Catholic Clergy March Against Duterte Administration in Iloilo City
Iloilo City is said to be the promise land of Senator Franklin Drilon and his cousin and current city Mayor Jed Mabilog who is allegedly involved in the proliferation of illegal drugs within his areas of responsibility.
President Rodrigo Duterte warned not only Iloilo City Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog but all people who have all drug-related activities to stop it as the administration is very sensitive on its crackdown to illegal drugs.
In a blog post of Mr. Alon Calinao Dy, he said, “it is hard to win against the battle of illegal drugs, criminality and corruption since some organizations like Human Rights and religious groups do not appreciate and respect the strict campaign of the government against these major country’s problems today.”
As a matter of fact, some members of the Catholic clergy marched alongside leftist groups in protest actions criticizing the administration of President Rodrigo Duterte in Iloilo City. No wonder why because this City has a lot of supporters of Senator Franklin Drilon and the Iloilo City Mayor Jed Mabilog.
I wonder why these Catholic clergy were on the streets marching against the present administration when they already knew that this war on drugs of the regime is to eliminate those people who are involved of narcotics for the future of the country and for the next generation.
I wonder why these priests don’t see the good plans of the government. Is it because they are so-called they are pro-life and hypocrites as what the president said when he was still a new head of the state?
I wonder why these priests are very silent when women are being raped by drug users and innocent children are being killed by those people who are under the influence of illegal drugs. Yes, I wonder why they enjoyed free gifts from these rich and powerful narco politicians and narco cops who see themselves as untouchables because they have the influence and the money from illegal drugs and various criminal activities.
This is the moment of truth. In reality, when law enforcers at least stop the selling of narcotics and find out those people who are behind these illegal activities are actually saving the life of innocent people especially the children. One drug lord can destroy a thousand Filipino families in the country, but, why is it that Human Rights advocates and our religious leaders do not see this way in the long term?
I think there’s the misconception of the sixth commandment “Thou Shall Not Kill” because it says that do not murder or do not put anyone to death without cause. In short, do not kill innocent people, but killing drug lords is not a sin and can be called as a murder because there’s a reason why it should be done. I think the government has enough reasons why they want to eliminate drug lords and corrupt politicians in the in the Philippines simply because they are the hindrances To the progress of the country.
