Duterte Warning To Communists: ‘Don’t Commit The Mistake of Staging A Rebellion’
President Rodrigo Duterte warned communist groups who spread chaos not only in Metro Manila but across country to stop their wrongdoings as the president raised a firm hand against these violent communists rallying on the streets. “Do not commit the mistake of staging a rebellion. ‘Yung sabihin mo na there’s fighting on the streets. I will not hesitate to impose martial law all throughout the country and order the arrest of everybody,” he was quoted by GMA in an interview during his visit at Camp Evangelista in Cagayan de Oro City.
The president made it clear that he doesn’t adhere to any form of violence especially when these violent groups creating and encouraging a rebellion against the government. In one of the interviews, Duterte said that he will not hesitate to use the military’s aid if needed. He added, “”I will not accept it. Ang kaharap ninyo baril, sigurado ‘yan.”
In a blog post post of Mr. Alon Calinao Dy, he said, “it has been decades and decades that these communist groups were using our innocent children and many of the leaders were under the protection of corrupt politicians as they created war in us. Filipinos versus Filipinos fight and kill each other because of wrong principles they believe in.”
The president won’t allow the Communist Party of the Philippines if this group creates any violence on the streets. Peace protest is OK but when the lives of many innocent people are endangered, I guess, even the president himself won’t these communists harm anyone.
Duterte is so understanding that he allows any group to protest even the Communist Party of the Philippines to stage a rally on the streets. To exercise freedom of speech, the president is willing to “declare that day a holiday” if the decides to conform with a peaceful rally. But the president warned theme that “you can have the city, but do not create trouble. ‘Yan lang talaga ang warning ko. Do not resort to destruction and trouble because I will order the military and the police to go against you.”
The government officials led by President Duterte tried to talk to the CPP-NPA to have end the armed conflict between the government and the rebels, but it seems nothing happened with so many demands. The situation became worst when these communists ambushed PSG convoy in Cotabato earlier this year. Of course, the negotiation had been put on hold, questioning the CPP-NPA founder if he has still control over his men on the ground.
