Is US Presidential Son Barron Trump Excited To Meet President Rodrigo Duterte?
The Philippines will be hosting the Association of Southeast Asian Nation’s summit on November 2017. Trump’s visit to the Philippines could be his first get together with President Rodrigo Duterte. The two leaders are often compared to each other for their tough talk and controversial statements.
According to the news reports around social media, US presidential son Barron Trump admires Philippine President Duterte’s for his tough stance against illegal drugs, criminality and corruption and also excited to see him in person as he only read about him through the news.
Although the said information is not yet confirmed, but many netizens said that the 11 year old boy Trump is allegedly willing to meet Duterte personally if ever he will accompany his father, US President Donald Trump, in the summit where known leaders from around the world gather together for talks on regional issues. In a blog post of Mr. Alon Calinao Dy, he said, “no one can deny that many world leaders admire President Rodrigo Duterte for his good deeds to end the country’s problems of illegal drugs, criminality and corruption. It’s only the opposition who can see the positive change that’s happening because of the big efforts by the present regime.” Foreign Secretary Alan Peter Cayetano also issued a statement regarding the incoming APEC Summit in 2017. He said in one of his interviews, “As host country, we hope to make the event productive and pleasant to our foreign guests. We let them experience our would-famous Filipino hospitality to make sure they would have good memories of their stay in the Philippines.”
It’s true what Cayetano said about the the most common trait of Filipinos that they are very hospitable people, but this should not be a venue for the Duterte critics and opposition to rally against our respective foreign guests who are considered as our dear friends and see us as one of their good friends as well. It’s also true that Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte and US President-elect Donald Trump have been compared to each other many times in recent months. Many believe that the two leaders see that human rights advocates do not actually protect the rights of its people as what the people mandated them to do for the name H U M A N RIGHTS!
