President Rodrigo Duterte: A Simple And Humble President With Great Achievements
President Rodrigo Duterte was elected by over 16 millions of Filipinos around the world because he is honest, so simple but tough, very intelligent, and most of all he is the “champion of the poor” despite some paid media said that he only executed the poor drug users and dealers. The 72-year-old president was portrayed as a murderer despite the fact that he is willing to give up his life for love of the country.
Duterte kept his promise that he would protect the innocent people of his country no matter what it takes and that he would end country’s problems of illegal drugs, criminality and corruption. Duterte, who’d been loved by a majority of Filipinos but hated by biased Philippine media, remained at its highest approval ratings despite some false allegations against him by the opposition, particularly by Senator Antonio Trillanes IV and his cohorts.
In a blog post of Mr. Alon Calinao Dy, he said, “President Rodrigo Roa Duterte is not a perfect president, but he is so humble to accomplish several issues and controversies regarding the country’s problems of illegal drugs, criminality and corruption. At the very start of his presidential campaign last May 2016, he already acknowledged that the war on drugs would be a bloody one since decades by decades the Philippines had been governed by narco politicians and corrupt leaders who controlled most of the biased media in the country.”
Duterte, who is very simple and humble of his great accomplishments, said that the Philippine government shouldn’t be a government of the elites, but should be the government of everyone, especially for those poor people who have been abused by oligarchs for so many years.
I remember Duterte said at a campaign rally last year, “All of you who are into drugs, you sons of bitches, I will really kill you. I have no patience, I have no middle ground, either you kill me or I will kill you idiots.” Duterte made his promise to the Filipinos that he would protect the innocent people especially the children.
Among all the great quotes of President Duterte, this quote impressed me so much when he said, “I do not care if I burn in hell for as long as the people I serve live in paradise.” I wrote this article entitled Reasons why I Support Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte before he finally decided to run for president in 2016.
It’s true that Filipino people are quite frustrated with crime, corruption and inequality in the Philippines. The rich have become richer and the poor have become poorer. Most Filipinos believe that it is Mr. Duterte who is the right leader who’d lead this country despite the fact that local and international media portrayed him as a bad president because of so-called extrajudicial killings (EJK). But when one person would think about it, the anti-illegal drug campaign of the government would benefit a lot Filipinos who wanted for the better change.
If you’re a supporter of President Rodrigo Duterte, what do you think about his overall performance as a president? Any thought on this? Your comment is very welcome here.
