Senator Risa Hontiveros Might Go To Jail For Alleged Kidnapping of Minors
According Former Negros Oriental Rep. Jing Paras, Senator Risa Hontiveros committed criminal acts like kidnapping, obstruction of justice, wiretapping, and other charges. He filed criminal charges against the lady senator for allegedly taking custody of minors who are witnesses in the case of 17-year-old Kian Delos Santos without parental consent.
In a blog post of Mr. Alon Calinao Dy, he said, “the parents of slain Kian Loyd delos Santos met President Rodrigo Duterte because they knew that Duterte has a sincere heart to help them rather than being used by the opposition for political reasons.”
It’s not the first time that the opposition have used minors to criticize the present administration. I have seen politicians bringing minors to the rally. Do the parents of these minors know the whereabouts of their children? What if something happens to these children without their parents’ consent, do you think these opportunistic people would take the responsibility and be accountable for it?
According to some reports, Hontiveros is charged of kidnapping for allegedly convincing the minors to abandon the home of their parents to an undisclosed location without informing authorities. Does the lady senator know that she needs parental consent for the children to make them witnesses for Kian’s death?
During Lorenza’s visit to the President, she said, “Sana po ay tigilan na po kasi naman po hindi kami namumulitika, ang gusto lang po namin ay mabigyan ng katarungan yong pagkamatay ng anak ko (I hope they stop it. We are not into politics. All we want is justice for my son’s death).”
It’s very clear that that the war on drugs by the present regime has been used by the opposition to destroy the good image of President Duterte. Duterte, who is very true for his words, promised the parents of slain Kian that he would do everything in his power for an early resolution of the case as he’d not allow the guilty police officers to go unpunished.
Duterte’s critics know that they have a slight chance to oust the president from his office because of over 16 million Filipinos who voted for him last year. And the worst nightmare for the opposition, Duterte’s public trust ratings soar high even more. That would make Hontiveros exert more effort to find ways to dethrone the president. But, with the press charges she has right now involving the illegal detention of the minors, I don’t think she would get away from these charges against her.
