Senator Trillanes To President Rodrigo Duterte: Your Popularity Will Go Down By The End of this Year
Opposition and critic of President Rodrigo Duterte, Senator Antonio Trillanes IV, said that Duterte’s popularity will go down by the end of this year, and soon Filipino people would realize how bad Duterte is.
Some say that Trillanes tries to follow the footsteps of late Ninoy Aquino who became the fiercest critic of former president Ferdinand Marcos, Sr., and soon became a national hero after he was assasinated by an unknown gunman.
Trillanes said when he was interviewed by BBC anchor Stephen Sackur, “historically, popularity ratings will change as the information have radiated to the general public. It will take a little time, but his numbers continue to go down and I’m quite confident towards the end of the year, it will be way below 50.”
“Really, Mr. Trillanes?” asked by Mr. Alon Calinao Dy, a blogger and an avid fan of President Duterte. He said in his blog, “As far as Duterte’s popularity ratings, I don’t think it will go down by end of this year. I believe Duterte’s overall approval rating will go up even more… So I think Trillanes lies all the time because he doesn’t respect the president.”
The truth about Duterte’ popularity in the Philippines is all by his sincere actions to make the country a better place for everyone. His high ratings tell every Filipino that a true public servant is willing to do everything for the good of his people and country.
I don’t think Trillanes and his cohorts understand that. It is also not important whether a person is popular or not for as long as that person is doing his job properly. I don’t think being a popular would make other people happy especially if that person hurts the feelings of others with all these hateful words and big lies.
